Solazo Taqueria, nestled at 954 Edgewood Ave S in Jacksonville, is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Patrons rave about the vibrant ambiance that evokes a feeling of home rather than conventional dining. Diners like Leandro M. Rocchetti describe the soul food quality of dishes such as the carne asada street tacos, emphasizing the warmth of service that feels as though one is being welcomed into a family kitchen. The menu is impressively diverse, catering to both traditionalists and vegans alike. Favorites include the Arroz Con Pollo and vegan options like the Veganzilla Burrito, which, according to Demetri Poulos, bursts with flavor and pairs well with their house-made Verde sauce. The freshly made chips and salsa add an extra layer of authenticity, making every bite delightful. Customer feedback highlights the excellent preparation of street tacos, praised for their grilled tortillas and generous fillings. Bethany B assures its superiority, even to picky eaters. The fast and attentive service, pointed out by several reviewers, enhances the overall experience, with staff demonstrating a genuine passion for the food they serve. Solazo Taqueria is a testament to culinary commitment, promising not just a meal but a memory. I rarely write reviews while still sitting in a place, but this time it’s just different. I need to. I randomly walked into this place because I was craving tacos, it’s 2:23pm on a Thursday, I took a break from work to have lunch and being done now I am contemplating what I just experienced. It’s not a “You should” type of thing, it is a “You need to, you must” give yourself permission to experience something like this. The quality of service, the atmosphere, I’m not in a restaurant, I’m at my grandma’s, I’m not just eating carne asada street tacos, this is soul food, this organic group of human beings moving the strings of the place are giving me something not every restaurant can give nowadays, and for this, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. What you are doing at Solazo Taqueria is important and should not go unnoticed. Thank you, once again. And if you made it this far, go on a random day, on a random hour, and indulge yourself in this immersive experience while you’re still breathing. Tomorrow can be too late.

Salsa was fantastic, fresh, with just the right amount of kick. Ordered the 3 taco special. Chose a carne, pollo, and a carnitas. The pork was to die for!! Service was on point, our lunch came quick, and prices were fair. Definitely will return. Only thing I would have added was to serve a lime slice with the tacos.

Went for lunch and it was amazing! The fact that they had a vegan menu section made me excited to try something new from it and I’m glad I did. I had the Veganzilla Burrito with Chorizo. It had wonderful flavor on its own, but I tried it with the house made Verde sauce and it complimented it very well. The chips and salsa are homemade and had the right amount of spice and flavor. You could taste the freshness. The staff was very friendly and facilities clean. The music/atmosphere was just right to let you enjoy lunch. I can’t wait to bring others here. You should go right now and eat at Solazo Taqueria. Thank you.

Solazo has become my go-to taco and Mexican place. First, their salsa is excellent. It's not too sweet, has just a hint of spice, and is the perfect thickness. Second, their street tacos are absolute fire. They grill the tortillas first, unlike most places, and they are just so dang good. Plenty of meat/ingredients inside, but not so much that it all falls out, and everything tastes amazing. My husband usually gets the surf and turf quesadilla and he says it's the best one he's had in town as well. Even my picky teens who don't usually like Mexican food like Solazo. Finally, I've had the same server almost every time I've been, and she is really good. She's very friendly and quick. She doesn't write anything down but she's never messed up our order, even when I was there with a table of 6 and a table of 5. I hope Solazo owners know what a gem they have in her.

How this place is a 4.3 instead of a 4.8 or higher is beyond me. We got the lunch menu Special Burrito, the Solazo Fajitas, and Guacamole Ranchero with Elote for appetizer. The food is OUTTA THIS WORLD, y'all. We went on a Monday around lunch time, so it was pretty empty. Our service was super fast, on-point, and we weren't kept waiting for anything. The chips and salsa came right as we sat down, which should be standard but still I think is very nice. I think the one wait staff they had was on break in the middle there and the chef himself came out several times to check on us, grab chip/drink refills, etc. They offered a to-go drink and chips at the very end as well. The fajitas dish was a HUGE pile of food. (Side comment on the brisket in the fajitas - I normally like to sub it or exclude it because it tends to be dry or tough, and I much prefer the steak and shrimp. However, the brisket in these fajitas was fully seasoned throughout, flavorful, and tender.) The burrito was pretty standard, delicious, and the Guac Ranchero and Elote were to DIE for. Like I cannot wait until we can return. Plus their website is easy to navigate and has a very well organized online menu if you like to know what you're getting before you arrive like we do. Check for yourself - the prices are killer, especially in this day and age. We used to frequent another Mexican place right across the street called El Jefe. They went out of business a little while back kind of suddenly, and I had always wondered if the money was mismanaged there or what the heck happened, because their food was also the bomb.com. Now we're pretty sure El Jefe is gone because of this place, lol. (RIP El Jefe) We absolutely CANNOT wait to come back! WE LOVE SOLAZO!!

Fire. If you're looking for a spot with incredible Mexican food and exceptional service, look no further than this hidden gem! Don’t let be fooled by the small size from the exterior fool you—this place is packed with big, bold flavors and outstanding quality. I ordered to-go tacos tonight and was absolutely blown away. Had the steak, chorizo, crispy white flaky fish, and garlic shrimp tacos were cooked to perfection. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and the tortillas deserve a special shoutout—thick, hearty, and full of authentic corn goodness. The double-layered tortillas held everything together beautifully without falling apart. What really stood out, besides the food, was the amazing customer service. I called in with no idea what I wanted, and the staff was incredibly patient, walking me through the menu and answering all my questions with genuine friendliness. They had my food ready in just five minutes, and the efficiency was impressive. All in all, this tiny spot is an absolute must-try for taco lovers. The flavors, service, and quality make it a standout. I will *definitely* be back. Go check them out—you won't regret it!

Recommended to us because we like New Mexican food (which looks like but is quite different from Mexican food). While not quite New Mexican food, it was close enough to scratch that itch for us. We typically don’t eat Mexican food in Florida because it’s so bad, but we agreed that this was some of the best we’ve had outside Albuquerque. I got their enchiladas with red sauce, and while the red sauce wasn’t the traditional New Mexico Hatch chili sauce, it was very good. Flavorful with just a touch of heat. My wife got their street burrito, chicken, and she agreed it was the best Mexican she’d had in Florida. Our daughter got Dos Tacos and mumbled that it was good, which is the same as enthusiasm in most people, so all the food got pretty much glowing reviews all around. Complimentary chips and salsa were great, and our server was polite and efficient. This is now the only Mexican restaurant we will eat at in Florida. Highly recommend.

Yum! Checked out this place while visiting family. The portions are large. My husband’s burrito was enough food for two people. The street tacos are a good size so two or three are more than enough. I had two vegan tacos and they were great. They have several vegan options which aren’t just lettuce and beans. They use vegan chorizo and beyond beef. I was a big confused about the vegan chorizo because it tasted too real. The staff was so friendly and wait times for food was very reasonable. Id definitely come back.
